Boyzone singer Ronan Keating is reportedly trying his best to save his 12-year-old marriage with wife Yvonne amid rumours that he was cheating on her for last seven months.
The Irish singer and his model wife annouced their sepparation last Thursday but Keating is flying back to Dublin in a desperate attempt to salvage their relationship.
He was contracted to perform at the SkyDance festival in Zurich this weekend, but has cleared his diary for four weeks to return to Ireland.
In a series of emotional phonecalls and text messages, the Boyzone star has spent the past four days pleading for a meeting with his distraught wife after she discovered his affair with 26-year-old back-up dancer Francine Cornell, whom he met during the band’s UK tour, the Daily Mail reported.
“Everyone remains hopeful that Yvonne and Ronan might be able to repair things. It is going to be a long way back, but they have three children and we hope they can make it work for their sake. They were almost ready to move into their beautiful new mansion. They will meet up in the coming days
and Yvonne will let Ronan explain,” a source said.
The News of the World reported that the singer has confessed about his affair to his wife and has pleaded her to take him back.
“I’m devastated. I know what I did was wrong. I feel terrible about what this has done to Yvonne. But I’m not prepared to give up on my marriage,” Keating told a friend.
“I’ve cancelled everything for the next three weeks and I’m going to come back to Dublin to try and make this work,” the friend told the newspaper.
Keating’s wife, who has been pictured without her wedding ring, came to know about the alleged affair when she stumbled upon a second mobile phone and found intimate correspondence between her husband and Francine Cornell.
